Senior Accountant
Purpose of Position
The Senior Accountant supports the Accounting Manager in executing day-to-day accounting, month-end close, accounts payable, reconciliations, cost reporting and financial documentation for the U.S. portfolio/site accounting function. The role is responsible for accurate transaction processing, timely close support, high-quality account analysis, and practical accounting support to operations, procurement and finance stakeholders, including the consistent application of U.S. GAAP and, where applicable, IFRS to assigned transactions and reporting matters.
Accountability
The Senior Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and works closely with accounts payable, procurement, site operations, project controls, payroll, finance leadership and external advisors as required. The role provides senior-level accounting execution, account analysis, reconciliations, AP support, cost reporting preparation and accounting standards support, while the Accounting Manager retains overall responsibility for close coordination, review, controls, cost-control oversight and team leadership.

This role is designed to complement the Accounting Manager by handling senior-level accounting execution, account analysis, reconciliations, AP support, cost-reporting preparation and initial accounting-standard analysis for assigned transactions. The Accounting Manager remains responsible for managing the close process, reviewing accounting outputs, overseeing day-to-day accounting performance, coordinating cost-control priorities and mentoring the accounting team.
Knowledge / Education
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
· Approximately 4+ years of progressive accounting experience; mining, critical minerals, industrial, project-based or capital-intensive experience preferred, as well as public company experience preferred.
· Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with ability to research, analyze, apply and document accounting standards and prepare clear, audit-ready support for accounting conclusions.
· Familiarity with IFRS and ability to identify when cross-border, intercompany, capitalization, impairment, revenue, lease, accrual or other accounting-standard matters require additional analysis or escalation.
· Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP systems preferred; advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency expected.

· Ability to apply accounting standards to practical business facts, document the rationale for conclusions and communicate accounting implications clearly to accounting, finance and operational stakeholders.
· Comfort identifying accounting-policy questions, data gaps and areas requiring technical review, including when to involve the Accounting Manager or external accounting advisors.
· Able to manage multiple priorities, meet close deadlines and work independently in a results-oriented environment.
· Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with accounting, procurement, operations, payroll, vendors and external advisors.
· Sound judgment, confidentiality and professionalism when working with financial, payroll, vendor and organizational information.
