Job Description


The General Supervisor of Process Maintenance Planning & Reliability is a key leadership role within the process maintenance team, responsible for the coordination and integration of maintenance planning and reliability engineering functions. This position ensures the safe, efficient, and sustainable maintenance of all fixed plant equipment, including crushers, conveyors, screens, mills, thickeners, pumps, and related infrastructure. The role drives proactive asset management strategies to reduce unplanned downtime, optimize maintenance execution, and extend the life of critical assets in alignment with production goals.


Job Responsibilities


•  Lead and mentors Process Maintenance Planner and Reliability teams.

•  Oversee the development, continuous improvement, and execution of maintenance plans and schedules for processing equipment.

•  Integrate reliability engineering principles into maintenance planning to ensure long-term equipment performance and integrity.

•  Coordinate shutdown planning and major maintenance events with cross-functional teams, ensuring safe and efficient execution.

•  Monitor and analyze equipment performance data, downtime trends, and maintenance KPIs to drive continuous improvement.

•  Conduct and facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for significant equipment failures and develop corrective and preventive actions.

•  Ensure optimal use of the CMMS for work order management, planning accuracy, and reliability tracking.

•  Drive compliance with preventative and predictive maintenance strategies, vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, and other condition monitoring techniques.

•  Champion a strong safety culture and ensure all maintenance planning and reliability activities adhere to site safety and environmental standards.

•  Create budgeting, resource forecasting, and capital planning for plant maintenance needs.

•  Build strong working relationships with operations, maintenance execution, supply chain, and engineering to ensure equipment availability and performance targets are met.


Education and Experience


•  Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline preferred.

•  7+ years of experience in processing maintenance within a mining processing environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.

•  In-depth knowledge of planning and reliability practices for processing equipment.

•  Strong experience with CMMS systems and data-driven maintenance strategies.

•  Skilled in reliability tools and methodologies (e.g. RCM, FMEA, RCA).

•  Proven leadership, team development, and interpersonal communication skills.

•  Demonstrated commitment to safety and continuous improvement.



Preferred:


•  Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent.

•  Experience with SAP, Pronto, or similar CMMS in a mining setting.

•  Familiarity with shutdown management and major overhaul planning.

•  Lean maintenance or Six Sigma training/certification.
