Product Engineer

Apply for this job

A well-funded fintech startup building the infrastructure that makes global payments and financial operations actually work at scale. The platform processes millions of transactions across 190+ jurisdictions - calculation, filing, remittance - at millisecond latency with zero downtime. Think of it as the layer that sits beneath the financial internet and keeps it honest.

They need a Senior Product Engineer to own and ship new product lines as they scale.

What you'll do

  • Own end-to-end development of new product areas: payment flows, filing infrastructure, data pipelines
  • Ship mission-critical features used by enterprise customers within your first weeks
  • Work directly with customers to improve and optimise key platform components
  • Set direction in areas you own - small team, no playbook
  • Mentor engineers in components you've built

About you

  • Strong Python engineer, comfortable owning a backend codebase and data pipeline end to end
  • Experience with high-volume transaction data or business-critical financial systems
  • Very strong attention to detail: near-correct isn't good enough at this scale
  • Built at early-stage before: ambiguity is motivating, not draining
  • Full-stack capable - not afraid to jump into React when needed

Nice to have

  • Django or Python ORM
  • Fintech, payments, or high-stakes data domains
  • Familiarity with agentic or LLM-integrated systems

Stack

Python, Django. React on the front end. High-volume transaction data pipelines.

Comp

USD $200k-$260k + equity.

Details

Sydney or Melbourne. Remote-friendly for the right person. Australian working rights required.
