Backed by a16z and YC, 30%+ month-on-month growth, customers include some of the biggest names in US tech. The core product ingests global trade law across 190+ jurisdictions, interprets it in real time, and produces compliance determinations at millisecond latency. The engineering bar is high by necessity: being 99% right isn't good enough when you're handling millions of transactions.

They're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own and build new product lines as the platform expands. This is a founding-eng-style role at a company with serious traction.

What you'll do

• Own end-to-end development of new product areas: filing infrastructure, tax engine features, agentic AI integrations
• Ship mission-critical features used daily by enterprise customers within your first weeks
• Work directly with customers to improve and optimise key platform components
• Define the problem, not just execute the solution: small team, no playbook
• Mentor engineers in areas you've built and own

 

About you

• Strong Python engineer: comfortable owning a backend codebase and data pipeline end to end
• Experience with large volumes of transaction data or business-critical financial systems
• Very strong attention to detail: in a compliance product, near-correct is wrong
• Early-stage experience: you've built in environments where ambiguity is the norm, not the exception
• You define your own path to a goal; you don't wait for the answer to be handed to you

 

Nice to have

• Django or Python ORM experience
• Front-end exposure (React); full stack a bonus, not a requirement
• Experience in fintech, compliance, tax, or other high-stakes data domains

Comp

AUD $180k-$230k base depending on level. Equity included.
