We are looking for a Field Service Engineer with experience. Candidate will provide service and support for repair/maintenance of new and existing equipment, including start-up and commissioning. A Field Service Engineer will provide assistance in the areas of installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair equipment on and off-site. Two years of related experience is required.

                                                        

YOUR DAY TO DAY:

  • Install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot high-power electrical equipment (e.g., melting equipment, induction power supplies, furnaces) at customer sites and company facilities.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues using electrical prints, test equipment (voltmeter, oscilloscope and other devices as needed), and mechanical/hydraulic/piping diagrams.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Handle and care for equipment and tools responsibly.
  • Complete general housekeeping duties as required.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members in English (spoken and written); French language skills are an asset.
  • Travel frequently (primarily within eastern Canada), typically for 2–4-day trips, with occasional longer assignments for equipment startups.
  • Participate in regular check-ins, self-directed learning, and hands-on experience in the manufacturing facility.
  • Collaborate with the service team (service engineers, manager, technicians) and seek support from experienced colleagues and the corporate service department when troubleshooting equipment.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

 

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology, or equivalent experience specifically in troubleshooting electrical devices (backgrounds in robotics or computer engineering are not suitable).
  • Minimum two years of related field service experience, ideally in the electrical industry, power stations, or maintenance roles accompanied by a red seal electrician license.
  • Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions).
  • Familiarity with electricity, high voltage/power, and test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and piping diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and exercise sound judgment without direct supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills: fluency in English required, French is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently and on short notice.
  • Physical capability to climb, stand for long periods, and work in extreme conditions (hot, cold, dirty environments), lifting limited to 50 lbs,
  • Must be able to attend the office for training and work onsite. Occasional travel to the USA for training will be required.
