
People & Culture Manager
Location: Kelowna, BC
Reports To: VP Finance & Operations / Managing Director
Salary Range: $100,000 – $135,000 CAD
Job Overview
We are seeking a People & Culture Manager to join Argen Canada and lead the development and execution of our Canadian people function and strategy. This role is hands-on, with responsibility for building and scaling HR operations as the organization grows.
As we transition from outsourced HR support to an internal capability, this role will play a critical role in strengthening culture, supporting leadership, and ensuring compliance while driving efficient, scalable HR processes and activities.
This stand-alone HR role will also support the development of Argen Canada’s external employer brand through community engagement, charitable initiatives, and workplace recognition programs.

Primary Responsibilities
HR Operations & Administration
- Lead end-to-end HR operations including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compensation management and offboarding
- Manage employee lifecycle processes and HR systems
- Ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance across HR processes
- Coordinate the health and safety initiatives
Recruitment & Workforce Planning
- Own full-cycle recruitment
- Partner with leadership on hiring strategy and workforce planning
- Reduce reliance on external recruiting agencies
Employee Relations & Manager Support
- Advise managers on employee relations and performance issues
- Provide coaching to improve leadership effectiveness
- Manage leaves and return to works
- Act as a key contact for employee concerns
Performance, Compensation & Programs
- Lead performance management processes including reviews and development planning
- Support compensation, benefits, and total rewards programs
- Develop HR programs to improve retention and engagement
Policy, Compliance & Governance
- Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation
- Manage employee information
- Monitor people metrics and use data to guide recommendations and decision making
- Identify and mitigate people-related risks
Culture, Engagement & Employer Brand
- Drive employee engagement and culture initiatives aligned with company values
- Be a steward of our core values
- Develop and manage charitable programs, community partnerships, and internal engagement events
- Lead employer brand initiatives including participation in employer awards and workplace recognition programs
- Position Argen Canada as an employer of choice in its markets
- Support internal communications and storytelling to reinforce culture and employee experience
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience
- CPHR designation considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of employment standards and HR best practices
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations, and HR programs
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Growth mindset and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
