 Commercial Account Manager

We are seeking a dynamic, client-focused, and results-driven Commercial Account Manager to join our growing team. The Commercial Account Manager is responsible for managing and servicing a portfolio of commercial insurance clients, ensuring their evolving insurance needs are met through exceptional service, proactive communication, and tailored solutions. This role works closely with clients, producers, and insurance carriers to build strong relationships, support client retention, and deliver a seamless customer experience.


The successful candidate acts as a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate policy changes, renewals, claims, and risk management matters while contributing to the brokerage's growth, values, and commitment to service excellence.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a portfolio of commercial insurance clients, serving as a primary point of contact for day-to-day service needs and inquiries.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Review client operations and coverage requirements to identify exposures, recommend solutions, and ensure insurance programs align with business needs.
  • Collaborate closely with producers and sales team members to support client retention, account growth, and new business opportunities.
  • Prepare and process policy changes, endorsements, renewals, certificates of insurance, and other client documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor renewal timelines and coordinate the renewal process by gathering information, preparing submissions, and negotiating terms with insurance carriers.
  • Liaise with insurance company underwriters to obtain quotations, negotiate coverage options, address policy concerns, and facilitate timely resolution of client requests.
  • Assist clients throughout the claims process by providing guidance, coordinating communication with insurers, and advocating for positive claim outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed client records, ensuring all correspondence, policy activity, and client interactions are properly documented.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and additional coverage solutions that support clients' evolving business needs.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, insurance products, underwriting requirements, and regulatory changes to provide knowledgeable advice and support.
  • Work collaboratively with internal team members to achieve departmental objectives and deliver a seamless client experience.
  • Ensure all client service activities are completed in accordance with brokerage standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and licensing requirements to enhance technical knowledge and industry expertise.


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in insurance, customer service, account management, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Active RIBO licence is an asset, or a willingness to obtain licensing through employer-supported training.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and insurance partners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in understanding clients and their businesses.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify client needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Proficient with technology and comfortable learning new systems and digital tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Calm, professional, and adaptable when navigating challenging or time-sensitive situations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and building long-term client relationships.
  • Eagerness to learn, develop industry knowledge, and grow within a successful and expanding brokerage.
