YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • Develop and implement HR plans and programs that support Northlands business strategy and operational priorities
  • Partner with the executive team to translate business objectives into workforce plans, organizational support, and change management initiatives.
  • Lead the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, development, performance management, and succession planning. 
  • Build, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with Ontario employment legislation. 
  • Oversee compensation, benefits, HRIS processes, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Guide and support managers in handling employee relations, performance conversations, coaching, and disciplinary matters. 
  • Enhance employee engagement through culture building initiatives, communication, and recognition programs. 
  • Develop and oversee training and development programs that support skill-building and leadership capability across the organization. 
  • Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and create action plans to improve retention, engagement, and operational effectiveness. 
  • Champion a positive, collaborative workplace culture that aligns with Northland Floral’s values and supports organizational growth. 
  • Foster strong relationships across departments to ensure HR is a trusted, accessible, and solutions-oriented partner. 
  • Ensure health, safety, and compliance practices are upheld across all operations.


WHAT YOU BRING

  • 7–10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibilities. 
  • CHRP/CHRL designation (or equivalent) preferred. 
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, agriculture, or a similar fast paced environment is an asset. 
  • Demonstrated strength in building or elevating HR functions, policies, and programs. 
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices. 
  • Excellent communication, relationship building, and problem solving skills. 
  • A strategic thinker who is also comfortable being hands on.
