Corporate Controller

Established in 1956, Central Precast began manufacturing precast concrete products for the general construction industry. Over time, its products and operations expanded to include landscaping and utility products, manholes, concrete poles, steps, barriers, and architectural panels. This growth led to the formation of The Precast Group, which includes three manufacturing companies: Central Precast Inc., MCON Products Inc., and Utility Structures Inc. As the organization continues to grow, it remains committed to preserving the family-oriented culture, trusted relationships, and practical approach that have contributed to its success. With quality, service, and workplace safety at the forefront, The Precast Group is looking for a full-time, permanent Corporate Controller to support its three locations in the Ottawa area.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance leader to oversee the controllership function across multiple manufacturing entities, strengthen financial processes, and become a trusted partner to operational and senior leadership.

  • Support compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements, including corporate income tax, HST, payroll, and related reporting.
  • Strengthen financial processes to support the organization’s continued growth and long-term scalability.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members across multiple locations.
  • Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and working capital.
  • Support relationships with financial institutions and contribute to capital investment decisions.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives, including system improvements, expansions, and potential acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to identify and develop relevant training programmes.
  • Gradually assume broader organization-wide financial responsibilities based on demonstrated performance, leadership maturity, business understanding, and readiness.

WHAT YOU BRING

The ideal candidate is a technically strong, hands-on finance leader who combines sound financial judgement

  • Approximately 8 to 12 or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • Previous experience as a Controller, Corporate Controller, Director of Finance, or in a comparable senior financial leadership position.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including hands-on experience with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, construction, industrial, or another operationally focused environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and cost accounting, including inventory, work in progress, costing, and operational variance analysis.
