POSITION OVERVIEW

The Canadian Sales Manager leads and develops the Canadian sales team while driving revenue growth, strengthening key customer relationships, and expanding Northland’s presence across Canada.


This role blends commercial leadership with team development, ensuring disciplined execution, accountability, and consistent results. Working closely with the VP of Sales, Marketing, and Product Development, the Sales Manager translates company strategy into clear sales priorities and measurable outcomes.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the Canadian Sales Team to achieve and exceed revenue and growth targets.
  • Own performance across the Canadian customer portfolio, driving accountability and results.
  • Develop and execute strategies to strengthen key account relationships and expand market opportunities.
  • Monitor market conditions, customer trends, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.
  • Translate company sales objectives into clear territory and account‑level action plans.
  • Develop and manage Canadian sales forecasts and contribute to broader company planning processes.
  • Track sales performance wins and losses, and key account activity to support data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Review team performance against targets and adjust sales strategies as needed.
  • Ensure consistent use of sales tools and systems to maintain visibility into customer performance and pipeline.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to Canadian Sales Team members.
  • Build a high‑performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of strong territory management, sales execution, and customer engagement capabilities.
  • Identify training and professional development opportunities to strengthen team effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, supply chain, and internal teams to align customer demand with operational capacity.
  • Support improvements in sales processes, customer service delivery, and internal communication.
  • Ensure sales activities align with overall company objectives and operational planning.
  • Foster an environment of empowerment, engagement, and shared commitment to company goals.
  • Monitor team structure and performance, recommending staffing or organizational improvements where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the development of a disciplined, results‑driven sales organization.


WHAT YOU BRING

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with significant experience in sales leadership, key account management, or commercial development.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of customer relationship management and market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sales management tools.
