About the Opportunity

Invoke Staffing is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join a growing commercial construction team in the Raleigh-Durham market. This position will initially support the construction of two ground-up childcare/daycare facilities and offers an excellent opportunity for an emerging field leader to gain experience on high-quality commercial projects from sitework through turnover.


The ideal candidate will have experience supporting ground-up commercial construction projects and be eager to grow into a lead Superintendent role over time. This is a hands-on field position requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and schedule execution.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the Superintendent with daily field operations and project execution.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries to maintain project schedules.
  • Monitor work for compliance with plans, specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Conduct daily site walks and identify potential issues before they impact schedule or budget.
  • Maintain project documentation including daily reports, progress photos, inspections, and punch lists.
  • Participate in project meetings with subcontractors, owners, architects, and project management teams.
  • Assist with site logistics, coordination, and sequencing of work activities.
  • Support project closeout activities including punch list management and turnover documentation.
  • Promote and enforce jobsite safety standards and company safety policies.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional construction site.


Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction field operations.
  • Experience on ground-up commercial projects preferred.
  • Childcare, educational, retail, office, healthcare, hospitality, or similar commercial project experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with construction technology and project management software is preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work effectively with subcontractors, project managers, inspectors, and clients.
  • Desire to develop into a lead Superintendent role.
