Our client, a well-established construction services provider with a flooring and acoustical ceiling focus, is seeking a skilled Preconstruction Director to lead their preconstruction efforts and team. This role is crucial in ensuring seamless project planning, estimating, and budgeting to support the company’s growth and success. You will manage a team of 4 and help lead the company as they continue to grow rapidly in the commercial flooring construction industry!

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all preconstruction activities, including budgeting, estimating, value engineering, and scheduling.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Lead the preconstruction team in analyzing project requirements and identifying cost-effective solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers and executives to ensure alignment on project scopes and goals.
• Review and refine project estimates, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide strategic input to mitigate potential project challenges.
• Stay informed on market trends, construction costs, and industry best practices to enhance preconstruction processes.
• Manage bid proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations to support business development efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
• 10+ years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or related roles within the commercial construction industry.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a preconstruction team.
• Proficiency in estimating software and construction management platforms.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
