The nation's largest and fastest growing swimming pool builder, has an opportunity for a Construction Operations Manager to oversee and grow the construction department for it's Fort Myers division. To be considered for this position, you must have the ability to carry out it's strategic goals, business plans, budgets and resources for the Construction department in accordance with firm’s overall strategy and direction. We are looking for a candidate to have the ability and experience to grow the construction department volume from the initial $ 7M 2023 volume in its first year to an estimated $ 35-40M in 5 years. Responsibilities

  • Provides a servant leadership mindset to all employees and construction while heavily focused on our Customers' pool building experience.
  • Ensures the company’s strategic goals, business plans, budgets and resources for the Construction department function in accordance with firm’s overall strategy and direction with a keen outlook on growth and the Customer Experience.
  • Promotes an accountable environment with clear and defined employees’ responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities.
  • Oversees the development of processes and control measures that enable the monitoring of construction progress with regards to budget, time and scope.
  • Promotes and supports use of Project Management policies, process, and standards
  • Oversees employees’ performance evaluation processes, carries out disciplinary meetings, and recommends salary adjustments, rewards and promotions based on performance appraisals
  • Oversees and reviews Complete Design of Construction plans with designers and engineers
  • Acts as key point of contact for to ensure each customer gets a world class experience.
  • Directs technical, contractual performance of the contracts once Construction begins
  • After Contract sale, manages budget and estimates, alongside Corporate Estimating Department and Territory Manager to ensure P&L goals are met.
  • Hire, Train and Supervises Job Supervisors and Office Staff to meet schedules, budgets and communication expectations with our customers.
  • Coordinates daily site-specific work efforts.
  • Maintains consistency of technical approach.
  • Ensures conformance with regulatory requirements.
  • Identifies change orders, as required.
  • Initiates, reviews, and supervises subcontractor performance.
  • Health and Safety compliance.
  • Prepares monthly update reports on Budget, Schedule, and Change Orders
  • Strong knowledge of overall construction with a heavy focus in civil, concrete, masonry, plumbing and electrical.
  • Efficiently plan/schedule staff routes to visit multiple sites per day and perform quality checks of work and crews on sites
  • Oversee and participate in work progress/completion by crews, identify potential problems in the field, and recommend solutions to guarantee quality standards are met; keep Territory Manager and office staff informed of any construction issues.
  • Monitor for discrepancies in invoices and estimates and ensure all Job Costing is accurate.
  • Accountable for the Collection of payments from customers during work performance.
  • Produce a positive attitude and relationship with team, Trade Partners, and crews.

Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of construction management experiences – commercial, residential, apartments and/or federal construction. Pool industry experience is beneficial
  • 5 or more years of project management experience.
  • Estimating & Cost Management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Valid Driver’s License
