Our client is a trusted partner in commercial and private construction, specializing in turnkey site development services throughout Central Virginia. As they continue to grow, they’re seeking a driven Business Development Manager to expand their client base, deepen strategic relationships, and help shape the future of their company.


Position Summary:

The Business Development Manager will lead efforts to identify and pursue new project opportunities in the site, utility, and civil construction space. This person will be responsible for developing relationships with general contractors, developers, and design firms to win new business and support long-term growth in key markets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in Central Virginia and surrounding markets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, commercial developers, architects, and engineers.
  • Collaborate with estimating and project management teams to prepare and deliver winning proposals and presentations.
  • Track market trends, competitor activity, and emerging projects to position our client strategically.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote our client's brand.
  • Maintain a CRM system to track leads, proposals, and ongoing business development activity.
  • Assist leadership in shaping growth strategies, marketing efforts, and client retention initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of business development or client-facing experience in construction, site development, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of site work, utilities, and land development processes.
  • Proven track record of winning commercial or private construction work through relationship-building and strategic pursuit.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented with a proactive approach to generating new business.
  • Familiarity with Central Virginia construction market a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
