About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to oversee charter school and K-12 construction projects across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The ideal candidate has a strong background in educational facility construction and is comfortable managing every phase of the project lifecycle, from initiation through closeout. This role requires excellent communication skills to coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams and keep projects on time, within scope, and on budget. Regional travel to job sites is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Initiation: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Regulatory Compliance: Obtain necessary permits and ensure projects adhere to local, state, and federal regulations
  • Resource Management: Procure and manage necessary supplies, tools, and equipment
  • Team Coordination: Oversee and coordinate the activities of on-site construction managers, subcontractors, and other personnel
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing concerns promptly
  • Budget and Schedule Management: Monitor project expenditures, track progress against schedules, and implement corrective actions to meet financial and timeline objectives
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all work meets or exceeds company standards and client expectations
  • Safety Oversight: Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the construction industry, with a preference for educational facility projects (charter school or K-12 experience a strong plus)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel regionally across NC, SC, and TN as projects require
