Manager, Insurance Operations & Risk
Location: Remote (U.S.) | Full-time, Exempt
Join a rapidly expanding insurance organization with a unique partnership model that combines local agency independence with the strength and resources of a national platform. This is a newly created, high-impact role designed for an experienced insurance professional who understands the operational realities of policy placement and servicing — and is ready to build a best-in-class internal audit and risk management framework from the ground up.
The Opportunity
As Manager of Insurance Operations & Risk, you’ll take ownership of evaluating, improving, and standardizing processes across a national network of agency partners. You’ll identify gaps in policy issuance, renewals, endorsements, and claims handling to reduce Errors & Omissions (E&O) exposure and improve efficiency. The role offers a mix of strategic design and hands-on execution — perfect for someone who’s lived in the agency world and knows how to build credibility with experienced account managers and producers.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement an internal audit program focused on reducing E&O risk and strengthening operational effectiveness across agency partners.
- Review agency workflows for policy placement, issuance, and servicing to identify control weaknesses and process gaps.
- Collaborate directly with partner agencies to recommend, train, and implement best practices for E&O prevention.
- Produce detailed reports and action plans that drive accountability and continuous improvement.
- Partner cross-functionally with internal audit, legal, and finance to align risk mitigation efforts.
- Travel to agency offices (U.S. and Canada) to conduct on-site reviews and build strong relationships.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of experience in insurance operations, internal audit, or E&O/risk management (brokerage or agency background preferred).
- Deep understanding of how insurance policies are placed, issued, and serviced — ideally from an account manager, operations, or producer background.
- Ability to design and execute new processes independently; entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership mentality.
- Strong analytical and communication skills; comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and partner leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Accounting, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (CIA, ARM, CRM, CRMA, or CPCU) are a plus.
- Willingness to travel primarily mid-year.
Why This Role Stands Out
- Build and own a new program from inception — real influence, not maintenance.
- Join a company with a growth trajectory and a culture that rewards initiative and autonomy.
- Work directly with senior leadership and agency principals across the U.S.
- Competitive compensation with long-term upside through equity participation.
If you’re a seasoned insurance professional who knows where the operational pitfalls hide — and you’re ready to shift from reactive problem-solving to proactive risk leadership — this role offers the platform to make a measurable impact.
