The Role

As an Inland Marine Executive Sales Underwriter, you will build and maintain relationships, drive written premium growth, and achieve renewal retention goals while delivering a high level of customer satisfaction within your assigned territory. You will leverage underwriting, sales, and distribution management skills to manage a profitable book of business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a profitable inland marine book of business through strong underwriting, pricing, and risk assessment
  • Build and maintain consultative relationships with agency partners, leading effective agency reviews and driving quality submissions
  • Evaluate complex risks using financial analysis, historical data, and industry trends to inform coverage and pricing decisions
  • Develop and structure complex policies, endorsements, and coverage terms aligned with risk and profitability goals
  • Collaborate with internal partners, including risk engineering, to support loss prevention and risk mitigation strategies
  • Support business development efforts through prospecting, cross-selling, negotiation, and competitive analysis
  • Ensure clear documentation, regulatory compliance, and adherence to underwriting standards
  • Operate with a continuous improvement mindset while coordinating stakeholders to deliver optimal outcomes


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of inland marine insurance underwriting experience
  • Established retail agency relationships
  • Advanced underwriting analysis, coverage, and pricing expertise
  • Strong compliance, distribution management, and sales acumen
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to travel



This role is fully remote, but candidates must be based in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, or Maryland.
