Role Overview

Harrison Gray Search has partnered with a century-old, growing insurance innovator in Michigan. We are seeking a Middle Market Commercial Lines Account Manager for the Grand Rapids office. This role is designed for a dedicated professional who thrives in a steady environment, managing a stable and diverse book of business that balances complexity with a structured workflow.


Job Responsibilities

  • Manage a Stable Revenue Stream: Oversee a book of business valued at approximately $400,000 to $500,000 in revenue.
  • Collaborative Partnership: Work directly with two dedicated Producers to service mid-sized accounts.
  • Balanced Complexity: Handle accounts that are "complex yet simple," requiring high attention to detail without the need for specialized captive insurance knowledge.
  • Process Management: Maintain a consistent rhythm of renewals and client interactions, ensuring a steady flow of service throughout the year.
  • Carrier & Client Relations: Build long-term reliability with carrier partners and clients through consistent, high-quality work products.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience Level: Ideal for a professional looking to "finish out their career" or find a long-term niche where they can excel in a familiar, stable segment.
  • Technical Comfort: While high-level Excel pivot table mastery isn't the primary driver for this specific desk (unlike the Large Account/Captive roles), proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite remains essential for accurate documentation.
  • License & Education: MI Property and Casualty license required; professional designations (CISR, CIC, CRM) are highly valued.
  • The "Middle Hitter" Mindset: Must exude reliability, accountability, and a preference for collaborative, team-based success over high-pressure technical troubleshooting.

Schedule:

  • In-Office
  • M-TH 8:00am to 5:00pm and F 8:00am – 4:30pm (Memorial Day through Labor Day 4:00pm on Friday)
