Tax and Consulting Senior Staff Accountant
Are you an experienced tax professional who enjoys building lasting client relationships? Join a collaborative Tax & Consulting team as a Senior Accountant and play a key role in delivering personalized tax strategies and financial planning through a comprehensive client process.
This role is part of a team that serves as partners in building lifetime relationships with clients. The Senior Accountant delivers tax and consulting services, specialized financial planning, and supports wealth advisors in helping clients meet their personal and financial goals.
Key Focus Areas
Tax
- Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and fiduciaries.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with clients, tax staff, advisors, and senior management.
- Develop and maintain client relationships through exemplary service.
- Take on increasing responsibility for client work and communication, becoming a trusted point of contact.
- Master tax software, paperless storage systems, and workflow tools.
- Research and resolve complex tax issues.
Business Services
- Assist with preparation and review of monthly financial statements, including reconciliations, payroll processing, and journal entries.
- Support quarterly and annual compliance reporting.
- Collaborate with senior managers and attend client meetings as needed.
Financial Planning
- Gather, organize, and analyze client data, including financial statements, tax returns, and estate planning documents.
- Prepare tax and financial planning analyses such as Social Security, insurance, stock options, Roth conversions, and pension evaluations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
- 2–5 years of tax preparation experience.
- CPA or EA license (active or in progress).
- CFP or Series 65 certification a plus (or interest in obtaining).
Location & Schedule
- Based in Lewes, DE.
- Monday – Friday, 8am–5pm.
- Includes additional paid time off during tax season.
