Harrison Gray Search is working on behalf of its client, a growing independent insurance brokerage in the Detroit Metro Area, to identify a Commercial Lines New Business Marketer. This role is crucial to the firm’s continued growth, as it manages all aspects of new commercial business from submission to binding. With new business volume expanding rapidly, the firm is adding talent to strengthen its marketing team and ensure a seamless placement process.
Key Responsibilities

Own the New Business Process: Manage all incoming new business accounts from application creation through policy binding.

Collaborate with Producers: Gather and organize client information, ensuring submissions are complete and accurate.

Market Risks: Submit to carrier partners, negotiate coverage terms and pricing, and secure competitive placements.

Bind and Transition: Bind coverage, document the process within the agency management system (AMS), and transition the account to the Account Management team.

Maintain Carrier Relationships: Build and sustain strong partnerships with underwriters to improve terms and placement efficiency.

Manage Workflow: Balance a high volume of new submissions while maintaining precision, communication, and timeliness.
Qualifications
- Active Michigan Property & Casualty (P&C) License required.
- 2–5+ years of experience in an agency setting, ideally as a Commercial Lines Marketer or Account Manager.
- Proficiency with AMS preferred.
- Strong technical understanding of commercial coverages (property, casualty, auto, umbrella, etc.).
- Proven ability to negotiate effectively and maintain attention to detail under tight timelines.
