Position Overview
The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end closings, and providing financial analysis to aid business decision-making. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute month-end and year-end close processes accurately and on time
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate documentation and approvals
- Perform daily transactions and bank reconciliations
- Complete monthly general ledger account reconciliations
- Analyze financial data and deliver variance reports to management
- Develop and maintain Excel-based reports for financial analysis
- Assist in preparing internal financial statements and reports
- Support audits and special accounting projects
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
- Provide support in manufacturing cost accounting when needed
Additional Responsibilities
- Support the CFO and other members of the accounting team
- Participate in cross-functional teams and special projects as needed
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Assist with operational and industry-specific reporting
- Be available for extended hours during peak periods
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1–3 years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Experience with inventory accounting and cost allocation is a plus
- Familiarity with manufacturing operations preferred
