Position Overview

The organization is seeking an Investment Manager with strong financial skills and a commitment to values-aligned investing. This individual will source, evaluate, structure, and manage investments that deliver both financial performance and social impact. The role reports to senior investment leadership and collaborates closely with internal team members and advisory bodies.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a diverse pipeline of mission-aligned investment opportunities by engaging entrepreneurs, referral partners, community stakeholders, and ecosystem collaborators
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence, including financial modeling, valuation, impact analysis, and risk assessment across a range of enterprises and projects
  • Structure creative and flexible investment solutions such as term loans, revenue-based financing, convertible notes, equity investments, and real estate-related capital
  • Prepare investment memos, present recommendations to internal committees, and support the negotiation and closing of transactions with legal and operational partners
  • Monitor portfolio performance, maintain regular communication with investees, and provide strategic guidance or resource connections as needed
  • Identify opportunities for follow-on capital, restructuring, or additional support to strengthen investee success
  • Contribute to reporting efforts, including financial updates, impact documentation, and internal learning processes
  • Support ongoing development of investment strategy, policies, and operational enhancements based on emerging needs and organizational goals

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline; advanced degrees or professional certifications are beneficial
  • Five to seven years of relevant experience in investing, lending, community development finance, private capital, or related fields
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including financial modeling, valuation, and risk assessment
  • Experience structuring or managing investments across various capital types
  • Knowledge of small business environments, entrepreneurial ecosystems, or community-based economic initiatives
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to manage work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
