POSITION SUMMARY:

MasTec Purnell Canada is looking to hire a Junior HSE Advisor from Grande Prairie and surrounding areas with an immediate start to support several projects near Grande Prairie. 

This is six (6) to eight (8) weeks temporary role with a potential for longer term work pending successful future project award.

Preference will be given to candidates LOCAL to Grande Prairie and surrounding areas.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Conduct on site general field inspections
• Documentation scanning
• Collection of safety paperwork and uploading into database
• Provide coverage as required
• Other duties as required

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 2 years safety representative experience
• National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation
• Experience working with industrial construction/maintenance and pipeline industry is an asset
• Experience working with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for promoting and living out MasTec Purnell Canada’s 6 Core Values
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and current clean drivers abstract (5 years) is required
• Valid Safety Tickets (H2S, First Aid, CSO)
• Fall Arrest and Confined Space are an asset
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Ambitious, high-energy with positive attitude
• Strong analytical and investigative abilities are complemented by exceptional organization and communication skills.
