Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Physician
Patients arrive at a turning point: they need a clear diagnosis, an honest plan, and a physician who will own the outcome. In this role you lead reproductive endocrine and infertility care from first consult through treatment decision, aligning science, counseling, and the care team so each patient knows the next step and why it was chosen. The practice succeeds when clinical judgment is sound, time to a defined plan is short, and results are reviewed and improved in the open.
Performance Objectives
- Complete a documented diagnostic workup and individualized plan for infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, and reproductive endocrine disorders, with the recommended path and alternatives recorded at the treatment-decision visit.
- Select and adjust ovulation induction, IUI, and IVF-related protocols using evidence and cycle outcomes, and review results with the team each quarter to change what is not working.
- Lead case conference so nursing, embryology, and genetics share one plan before stimulation or a procedure begins.
- Shorten time from new-patient visit to a defined treatment path while keeping counseling complete on risks, likelihood of success, and when to stop or change course.
- Build referral relationships with OB/GYNs and primary care so appropriate patients are seen earlier, and track referral source and conversion to a care plan.
- Keep consent, documentation, and ART-related compliance current so privileges, audits, and patient records withstand review.
- Coach advanced practice providers and trainees so routine care is delegated safely and physician time stays on complex decisions.
Environment and Resources
You practice inside a physician-led fertility team and report to the medical director. Nursing, ultrasound, an embryology laboratory, genetic counseling, and dedicated scheduling support the schedule. You will use the EMR, cycle-management tools, and outcomes reports already in place, and you will have authority to recommend protocol changes within evidence, consent, and regulatory limits. Budget for new programs is set with the medical director against volume and quality, not assumed.
Essential Qualifications
- MD or DO, completed OB/GYN residency and REI fellowship, and ABOG board certification or active eligibility in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
- Unrestricted medical license, or ability to obtain one, and eligibility for hospital and practice privileges.
- Hands-on management of IVF and IUI cycles and complex endocrine cases, with outcomes you can discuss.
- Habit of counseling patients in plain language on prognosis, alternatives, and when treatment should change.
- Record of working with embryology and nursing as one team, including case review and protocol discipline.
Why This Role
- You own the clinical plan, not a narrow slice of a protocol.
- Laboratory, nursing, and counseling support are already in the practice, so effort goes to decisions and outcomes.
- Case mix includes both endocrine diagnosis and assisted reproduction, which keeps judgment broad.
- Outcomes are reviewed in the open, so good medicine is visible and poor patterns can be fixed.
- Physicians who raise quality and referral trust are positioned for greater clinical leadership.
