Orthopaedic Surgeon

Patients do not need another clinician who can recite protocols. They need a surgeon who restores motion, shortens disability, and earns trust when the decision is hard. This role owns the full arc of musculoskeletal care—from the first consult through the operating room and a durable return to function. Success is measured in outcomes patients feel, not cases logged.

Performance Objectives

  • Build and sustain a high-quality surgical practice that meets volume, access, and patient-satisfaction targets without compromising indication or safety.
  • Deliver evidence-based operative and nonoperative care across the assigned orthopaedic scope, with complication, readmission, and revision rates at or better than peer benchmarks.
  • Complete clear, timely documentation and surgical plans so patients, referring clinicians, and the care team can act without delay or rework.
  • Lead the perioperative team—anesthesia, nursing, therapy, and scheduling—so cases start on time, implants and resources match the plan, and handoffs are unambiguous.
  • Convert complex referrals into decisive recommendations within defined access windows, including second opinions and shared decision-making with patients and families.
  • Participate in quality review, morbidity discussion, and protocol improvement so preventable harm and unwarranted variation decline quarter over quarter.
  • Mentor advanced practice clinicians and trainees so the service expands capacity without diluting surgical judgment.

Environment & Resources

You will practice within a multidisciplinary musculoskeletal service supported by experienced OR teams, therapy, imaging, and care coordination. Block time, clinic templates, and implant pathways are established; you help shape them. You report to the physician leader for surgical services and partner daily with nursing leadership and practice management. Administrative support covers scheduling, authorizations, and documentation so clinical time stays clinical.

Essential Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with completion of an accredited orthopaedic surgery residency.
  • Board certification or active board eligibility in orthopaedic surgery, and an unrestricted license (or eligibility) to practice in the state of assignment.
  • Demonstrated independent operative judgment in the procedures this practice will ask you to own, with outcomes you can discuss plainly.
  • Current hospital privileges or a record that supports prompt privileging, including call participation appropriate to the service.
  • Proven ability to run an efficient clinic and OR day while maintaining complete, defensible documentation.
  • Clear communication with patients who are anxious, in pain, or weighing surgery against continued nonoperative care.

Why This Role

  • Real ownership of surgical decisions, not a production line of undifferentiated cases.
  • A team already built around perioperative flow, so you are not inventing the infrastructure alone.
  • Quality work that is visible: your results, access, and patient experience are reviewed and supported, not ignored.
  • Room to shape protocols, implant use, and how advanced practice clinicians extend your reach.
  • A placement built around fit—case mix, call, and practice style—not a generic vacancy.

Apply

If you want your next chapter judged by the function you restore and the standard you set in the room, apply with a current CV and a short note on the practice you are ready to build. We will respond with a direct conversation about scope, support, and whether this is the right operating room for you.
