Job Summary:
As the Data Modeling Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of data models that underpin our data infrastructure and support our business objectives. You will lead a team of data modelers, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement data models, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Data Modeling Leadership: Lead the data modeling team in the creation and maintenance of conceptual, logical, and physical data models that align with business requirements and industry best practices.

Database Design: Design and optimize database schemas, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval, and providing guidance on indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.

Data Integration: Oversee the development of data integration solutions and ETL processes to ensure seamless data flow across systems.

Data Quality: Implement data quality standards and best practices to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data scientists, and developers, to understand data requirements and provide data modeling solutions.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive data model documentation, data dictionaries, and metadata to facilitate understanding and use of data models across the organization.

Project Management: Manage data modeling projects from initiation to completion, including resource allocation, budgeting, and timelines.

Data Governance: Implement data governance policies and practices to ensure data security, compliance with data privacy regulations, and data access controls.

Training and Development: Mentor and develop data modelers, providing guidance and opportunities for skill enhancement.

Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging data modeling technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and implement improvements as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proficiency in data modeling tools and methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of database management systems, SQL, and scripting languages.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Project management experience and familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Strategic thinking and the ability to align data modeling efforts with business objectives.
