Otolaryngology Physician

Patients lose hearing, voice, airway, and confidence when ear, nose, and throat disease is delayed or fragmented. This role exists to change that: deliver precise diagnosis and definitive care, and be the physician colleagues trust when the case is complex. Success is measured in restored function, safer airways, and a practice patients recommend by name.

Performance Objectives

  • Build and sustain a full otolaryngology panel, converting new referrals into completed evaluations and clear treatment plans within agreed access standards.
  • Perform office and operative ENT procedures—including endoscopic sinus surgery, otologic procedures, head and neck surgery, and airway management—with complication and reoperation rates at or better than peer benchmarks.
  • Close the loop on every consult: timely notes, direct communication with referring clinicians, and coordinated follow-up that reduces unnecessary ED returns.
  • Lead multidisciplinary decisions for head and neck cancer, sleep-disordered breathing, and chronic sinus disease so patients leave with one plan, not competing opinions.
  • Improve clinic throughput without sacrificing exam quality—same-day diagnostics where appropriate, accurate coding, and documentation that supports both care and reimbursement.
  • Mentor advanced practice providers and trainees so routine care is handled safely and your time stays on cases that require a surgeon.
  • Contribute to quality and safety reviews, turning case findings into protocol changes the service actually uses.

Environment & Resources

You join a physician-led ENT service with dedicated OR block, modern endoscopy and microscopy, audiology and speech pathology on site, and inpatient consultation support. Clinic and surgical scheduling, coding, and prior authorization are staffed so you spend the day on patients, not paperwork. You report to the medical director for clinical standards and partner with practice administration on access, block utilization, and growth. Capital for instruments and implants is planned annually against volume and outcomes, not ad hoc requests.

Essential Qualifications

  • MD or DO and board certification or active eligibility in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.
  • Unrestricted state medical license (or eligibility) and DEA registration.
  • Demonstrated operative experience across the scope you will cover, with outcomes you can discuss.
  • Ability to run an efficient clinic and complete accurate, timely documentation.
  • Comfort leading tumor board or complex-airway discussions and communicating clearly with non-specialists.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and participation in quality review.

Why This Role

  • Real surgical volume and OR access, not a clinic-only title with occasional cases.
  • Integrated audiology, speech, and allergy support so comprehensive ENT care stays in one place.
  • Physician authority over clinical standards, with administration measured on access and support—not on overriding medical judgment.
  • A compensation model tied to productivity and quality, with a path to partnership or leadership for physicians who grow the service.
  • Colleagues who share call fairly and back each other on difficult airways and after-hours consults.
