OBGYN Physician

Women and families need a physician who treats pregnancy, gynecologic disease, and reproductive decisions with clinical rigor and respect. In this role you will own outcomes across the full continuum of care—from preventive visits and complex surgery to labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery—so patients leave healthier, safer, and clearer about their next step. Success is measured in timely access, sound clinical judgment, and trust that holds through the hardest moments of care.

Performance Objectives

  • Deliver evidence-based obstetric and gynecologic care that meets quality, safety, and patient-experience targets for your panel.
  • Manage labor and delivery, including high-risk cases within your privileges, so mothers and newborns receive timely intervention and safe disposition.
  • Perform office procedures and indicated surgery with complication rates and turnaround times that meet department standards.
  • Close care gaps in screening, contraception, prenatal follow-up, and chronic gynecologic conditions through reliable outreach and documentation.
  • Coordinate with nursing, anesthesia, neonatology, and primary care so handoffs are complete and avoidable delays do not reach the patient.
  • Document encounters, orders, and consents accurately enough to support billing integrity, peer review, and continuity of care.
  • Contribute to call coverage and quality review so the service remains available and continuously improves.

Environment & Resources

  • Practice within a physician-led women’s health service supported by experienced nurses, medical assistants, and care coordinators.
  • Use a modern EHR, on-site or affiliated imaging and laboratory services, and a labor-and-delivery unit with anesthesia and neonatal backup.
  • Report to the medical director or department chair, with defined clinic, OR, and call expectations set before start.
  • Access continuing medical education support, peer consultation, and standard clinical protocols for obstetric emergencies and surgical care.

Essential Qualifications

  • MD or DO and completion of an ACGME-accredited obstetrics and gynecology residency.
  • Board certification or active board eligibility in obstetrics and gynecology, with unrestricted state licensure or eligibility to obtain it.
  • Current hospital privileges, or the credentials to obtain them, for obstetrics, gynecology, and applicable surgical procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage routine and complicated obstetric and gynecologic cases and to communicate clearly with patients and teams.
  • DEA registration and compliance with clinical documentation, privacy, and safety standards.
  • Willingness to share call and to practice within evidence-based protocols and peer-review expectations.

Role Selling Points

  • A full-scope practice where clinic, surgery, and obstetrics are integrated rather than fragmented.
  • Clear performance expectations and a team built to support access, safety, and continuity.
  • Collegial coverage and specialty backup so complex cases are managed, not isolated.
  • A role defined by patient outcomes and professional judgment, not administrative busywork.

If you are ready to own the outcomes that define excellent women’s health care, apply with your CV and a brief note on the scope of practice you want to build.
