Emergency Medicine Physician

When minutes decide outcomes, this role is where clinical judgment, calm leadership, and decisive action meet. You will own care for undifferentiated, high-acuity patients from arrival through disposition, setting the standard for safety, throughput, and compassion in a busy emergency department. Success is measured in patients stabilized, diagnoses made early, and a team that performs under pressure.

Performance Objectives

  • Stabilize critically ill and injured patients, completing airway, resuscitation, and disposition decisions that meet departmental quality benchmarks.
  • Evaluate a high-volume mix of medical, trauma, pediatric, and behavioral emergencies, delivering accurate assessments and evidence-based plans that reduce missed diagnoses and avoidable returns.
  • Lead the bedside team—nurses, advanced practice providers, technicians, and consultants—so handoffs are clear, orders are executed, and length of stay stays within target.
  • Make admission, observation, transfer, and discharge decisions that protect patient safety while supporting emergency department and hospital flow.
  • Document encounters completely and contemporaneously so coding, continuity, and medico-legal standards are met without delaying care.
  • Close the loop on critical results and sepsis, stroke, and STEMI pathways within protocol windows, escalating system risks in real time.
  • Coach residents, advanced practice providers, or new clinicians when present, raising team competence without slowing patient care.

Environment & Resources

You will practice in a hospital emergency department with 24/7 nursing, imaging, laboratory, and specialty backup. You report to the emergency department medical director and work with board-certified emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, and a dedicated charge nurse. Resources include a modern electronic health record, bedside ultrasound, resuscitation bays, and established stroke, trauma, and sepsis protocols. Scheduling is shift-based, with protected time for required chart completion and access to clinical leadership for quality review.

Essential Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and completion of an accredited emergency medicine residency.
  • Board certification or active board eligibility in emergency medicine, with an unrestricted state medical license and DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain both before start.
  • Current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS, with independent management of airways, resuscitations, and procedural sedation.
  • Proven ability to run a high-acuity shift, including multi-patient prioritization and clear consultant communication.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record documentation and bedside ultrasound for focused diagnostic decisions.

Role Selling Points

  • Shift-based practice with defined handoffs—no longitudinal panel—so your impact is immediate and time off is truly off.
  • A team model that pairs physician judgment with advanced practice and nursing support, so you focus on decisions only you can make.
  • Quality infrastructure already in place: stroke, trauma, and sepsis pathways, plus peer review that coaches rather than punishes.
  • Compensation aligned to productivity and quality, with malpractice coverage and a path to leadership for physicians who improve flow and outcomes.

If you want your next shift to matter—and you can prove it in the bay, not only on a CV—apply now. Tell us how you have improved resuscitation, throughput, or team performance. Qualified physicians are reviewed and contacted quickly.
