Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Physician

Patients do not arrive as specialties. They arrive as newborns, adolescents, working adults, and older family members who need one physician who can follow the whole story. This role exists to deliver continuous, evidence-based care across the age span, close gaps between pediatric and adult medicine, and make complex decisions that improve outcomes for both patients and the practice.

Performance Objectives

  • Build and retain a mixed adult and pediatric panel, with continuity measured by return visits, panel growth, and patient-reported access.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions across the lifespan, reducing avoidable ED visits and hospital readmissions for assigned patients.
  • Lead care transitions for adolescents moving into adult medicine so chronic conditions, medications, and specialists transfer without gaps.
  • Coordinate with specialists, nursing, and care management to complete treatment plans and close quality measures for preventive, chronic, and pediatric care.
  • Document encounters the same day so coding, quality reporting, and follow-up orders are accurate and actionable.
  • Contribute to clinic standards for Med-Peds workflows, including vaccine schedules, chronic-disease protocols, and after-hours coverage.

Environment and Resources

You will practice in an outpatient setting with inpatient or newborn coverage as scheduled, supported by nursing, medical assistants, and care coordination. The role reports to the medical director, with access to an EHR, evidence-based order sets, and a defined panel and schedule. Compensation, call, and benefits are set with the employing practice and confirmed before offer.

Essential Qualifications

  • MD or DO and board certification or active eligibility in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
  • Unrestricted state medical license, or eligibility to obtain one before start, plus DEA registration.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a mixed-age panel, including chronic disease, preventive care, and acute visits.
  • Experience coordinating specialty care and adolescent-to-adult transitions.
  • Current BLS; ACLS and PALS as required by the practice’s coverage model.
  • Clear, timely documentation and respectful collaboration with clinical and administrative teams.

Why This Role

  • True dual-board practice, not adult medicine with occasional pediatric visits.
  • Continuity across generations in one community, with measurable quality and access goals.
  • Defined support staff and a medical director who owns clinical standards.
  • Schedule, call, and compensation discussed up front, not after you have invested weeks.

If you want your next role judged by the care you deliver and the panel you build, apply with your CV and a short note on the Med-Peds outcomes you are proudest of.
