IT Development Manager | Enterprise Software

About the Role

My client is hiring a senior IT Development Manager to lead enterprise software development teams and drive innovation across a Java based technology stack. In this high impact leadership role, you will oversee four IT Managers and more than sixteen software engineers while working directly with the COO, CEO, and CTO.

This position is ideal for a Software Development Manager or Technical Manager who thrives at the intersection of business and technology. The right person can guide enterprise scale architecture, prioritize delivery across multiple projects, and mentor managers and developers. You will not be coding, but your technical credibility in Java, cloud native systems, microservices, and enterprise applications will enable you to influence architecture and product strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor four IT Managers and their software engineering teams consisting of more than sixteen developers

• Collaborate with executive leadership to define and deliver development priorities aligned with business strategy

• Drive enterprise software modernization initiatives while maintaining reliable delivery of core applications

• Assist with solution architecture and product planning to ensure systems are scalable, secure, and high performing

• Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and agile delivery across multiple development teams

• Champion engineering best practices, SDLC improvements, and DevOps adoption

• Act as the communication bridge between business users and technical teams by translating functional requirements into actionable development roadmaps

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as HIPAA, SOC 2, and PCI while maintaining agility and innovation


What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

• Ten or more years of progressive experience in software development and IT leadership

• Five or more years managing technical managers and software engineering teams

• Strong background with Java development environments including Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, and microservices

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure along with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes and CI and CD pipelines

• Proven ability to lead enterprise transformation initiatives such as modernization, digital transformation, or platform scaling

• Familiarity with regulated industries such as healthcare or finance

• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work cross functionally at the C suite level
