Title: Director of Engineering - Extrusion

Summary:

Emerald Resource Group is partnering with a leader in metallic tube manipulation, hose extrusion, and molding of rubber and plastic products. We are seeking a motivated Director of Engineering with a strong background in rubber manufacturing to lead and direct the global engineering functions within the Extruded Products Division. This role presents an exciting opportunity to oversee a team of engineers and chemists, driving the development of manufacturable products that meet stringent customer design requirements, specifications, and cost targets within project timelines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead global engineering for Extruded Products Division.
  • Manage engineers and chemists to meet stakeholder needs.
  • Drive product development to meet revenue goals and ensure timely approvals.
  • Maintain project tracking with Extrusion Leadership.
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications and reliability standards.
  • Optimize manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  • Implement cost-saving measures.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing on design optimizations.
  • Lead personnel management and talent development.
  • Maintain and update design standards; protect technical information.
  • Stay current on relevant technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Support capital equipment needs.
  • Travel as required to sites and customer locations.
  • Foster positive impact across stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master's in Engineering or MBA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years in Automotive Engineering roles, with at least five years at a Manager/Director level.
  • Strong background in rubber chemistry; experience with rubber and plastic hose strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in engineering fundamentals, extrusion, hose design principles, and production processes.
  • Familiarity with Automotive OEM procedures, quality assurance techniques, statistical process control, 8-D problem-solving, and product testing.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and understanding of Lean principles.
  • Familiarity with organizational procedures and best practices.
