OBGYN Physician

Women and families count on a physician who can deliver precise care when the stakes are highest—and steady judgment when they are not. This role exists to raise the quality, access, and continuity of obstetric and gynecologic care for a defined patient community. Success is measured in safer births, earlier detection, fewer avoidable complications, and patients who leave knowing exactly what happens next.

Performance Objectives

  • Own a full-scope OB/GYN panel and complete prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic visits on schedule, with documented plans that patients can follow.
  • Manage labor and delivery, including operative vaginal delivery and cesarean birth when indicated, and keep maternal and neonatal outcomes within peer benchmarks.
  • Diagnose and treat common and complex gynecologic conditions—abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, infertility workups, menopause, and preventive care—and close the loop on referrals and results.
  • Perform office and surgical procedures within credentialed scope, with complication, infection, and readmission rates that meet or beat departmental standards.
  • Reduce preventable delays by responding to urgent consults and after-hours obstetric calls within agreed time targets.
  • Partner with nursing, anesthesia, pediatrics, and primary care so handoffs are complete, orders are clear, and no critical result is lost.
  • Contribute to quality improvement—at least one measurable protocol, pathway, or outcome review each year that improves safety, access, or patient experience.

Environment & Resources

You will practice within a multidisciplinary women’s health team—nurses, midwives or advanced practice clinicians where present, surgical staff, and maternal-fetal or specialty consultants. Clinic, labor-and-delivery, and operating-room access are in place, with standard EHR, imaging, and on-call coverage shared across the physician group. You report to the medical director or department chair for clinical performance and privileging. Call, clinic templates, and surgical block time are defined before start so volume is sustainable.

Essential Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O. and completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited obstetrics and gynecology residency.
  • Board certification or active board eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with unrestricted state medical license (or eligibility) and DEA registration.
  • Current hospital privileges or a clean privileging history for vaginal and cesarean delivery and core gynecologic surgery.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-acuity obstetric events and to document care that supports quality review and billing integrity.
  • Proven collaboration with nursing and consulting services under time pressure, including clear closed-loop communication.
  • Commitment to evidence-based guidelines, informed consent, and respectful care across diverse patients and family structures.

Role Selling Points

  • Full-scope practice: clinic, labor and delivery, and surgery—not a narrowed shift-only role.
  • Shared call and defined templates so clinical excellence is not traded for unsustainable volume.
  • Direct line to departmental leadership and a real voice in protocols that change outcomes.
  • Support staff and specialty backup already in the care model, so you are not building the team alone.
  • A placement focused on fit: schedule, case mix, and community needs are clarified before you commit.

Call to Action

If you want your next chapter judged by the care you deliver—not by a generic job title—apply with your CV and a short note on the outcomes you are proudest of. We will respond with a clear picture of scope, call, and support.
