Dynamics 365 Functional Analyst – Retail & Order Processing Configuration Specialist
Location: If direct hire must live in Florida, Georgia, Nevada, Ohio, Tennessee, Or Texas to be considered.

Overview:
Our client, a major player in the distribution and retail sector, is seeking a highly skilled Dynamics 365 Functional Analyst to lead the configuration and implementation of Order Processing, Sales Entry, Order Maintenance, POS, and Retail modules within their Dynamics 365 F&O platform. With the current system running version 10.0.40 on-premises (one of the largest F&O implementations outside of the cloud), this role will focus on supporting their retail and call center ordering business in a major transformation project. The target go-live date is 2026, and you’ll be part of a strong team, working alongside other Dynamics 365 functional experts.
Responsibilities:
- Module Configuration and Implementation
- Serve as the lead configuration expert for Dynamics 365 F&O modules: Order Processing, Cash register – POS, Sales Entry, Order Maintenance, and Retail.
- Provide hands-on support to retail and call center operations, setting up POS systems, retail registry, and cashier applications.
- Internal Consultation & Change Management
- Act as the internal Dynamics 365 subject matter expert, consulting with business teams to advise on best practices for module utilization.
- Drive conversations and manage change initiatives with business stakeholders to ensure successful adoption and minimal disruptions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal D365 functional experts and external partners, including the current system integrator, Blue Horseshoe (now part of Accenture).
- Partner with the API development team to ensure seamless integrations while focusing on functional configurations.
- Documentation, Training, and Support
- Create comprehensive functional documentation and user guides for configured modules, addressing the unique needs of both retail and call center users.
- Provide ongoing training and end-user support, driving engagement and fostering understanding of new D365 functionalities.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of one full-cycle Dynamics 365 F&O Order Processing implementation, with a preference for candidates who have completed multiple implementations.
- Strong background in distribution and retail industry operations, with proven functional expertise in Dynamics 365 configuration.
- Technical Skills:
- Deep functional knowledge of Dynamics 365 F&O modules, including Order Processing, Retail, and Call Center Order Management.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cashier applications is highly desired, alongside configuration experience with retail registries.
- Must have experience with Dynamics 365, ideally within an on-premises environment.
- Soft Skills & Change Management:
- Highly outgoing with excellent communication skills, capable of driving discussions and consulting effectively with non-technical business users.
- Proven change management expertise, with the ability to foster buy-in and ease transitions for end users.
- Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in a large-scale distribution or retail environment, with extensive end-user consulting experience.
