About the Role


Chandler Law seeks a full-time, onsite (hybrid available after 90-day onboarding period) associate attorney to join our growing Professional Liability practice. We represent businesses and attorneys throughout Georgia in complex legal malpractice matters and State Bar disciplinary proceedings. We also regularly advise lawyers and law firms on ethical and business issues connected to the practice of law.

Key Responsibilities

As an associate in this role, your work will include:

  • Evaluating new client matters and helping develop case strategies
  • Investigating and drafting responses to State Bar disciplinary matters
  • Responding to client ethics inquiries
  • Responding to written discovery requests and managing e-discovery tasks
  • Drafting pleadings and dispositive motions
  • Taking and defending fact and expert depositions
  • Attending hearings and arguing motions
  • Assisting lead counsel with trial preparation and proceedings
  • Communicating with clients and insurance carriers on active cases
  • Participating in business development activities like seminars and firm retreats


Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must include:

  • A cover letter explaining why you are a strong candidate for this role
  • Writing sample
  • Graduation in top 50% from an ABA-accredited law school (law review and/or moot court experience preferred)
  • Active license in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia (no disciplinary or malpractice history)
  • 1-4 years of litigation experience, with demonstrated competency in motion practice, written discovery, and depositions. First or second chair trial experience preferred.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent time management and communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Insurance defense experience
  • Experience responding to legal ethics or State Bar matters
  • Familiarity with litigation support and productivity software: Microsoft
  • Office, Westlaw, Relativity, CLIO (Manage and Grow)


Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting Rate at $90,000 and higher, commensurate with experience
  • Annual bonus $3,000 for every 100 billable hours over the annual required goal
  • PTO, Medical, Vision, and Dental benefits
  • Practice relevant CLE and GA Bar Dues support provided

  • Office located in Alpharetta, GA with easy access to I-400
