Build Your Career. Help Redefine the Future of Law.

What if practicing law didn't mean spending most of your day buried in paperwork, struggling with billable hours, or working long weeks just to keep up?

A growing Northeast Ohio law firm is challenging the traditional law firm model.

The firm is building a technology-powered legal practice that combines exceptional legal advocacy with cutting-edge AI, automation, and innovative systems. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Domestic Relations Attorney to join the firm at a pivotal stage of its growth, take ownership of meaningful cases, and help shape the future of legal practice.

Through custom GPTs, AI models, and automated CRM tools, the firm is transforming how attorneys conduct legal research, analyze court dockets, prepare filings, and manage cases. Tasks that traditionally take hours can be significantly streamlined, giving attorneys more time to focus on strategy, advocacy, and client relationships.

The firm is also transitioning toward a fixed-fee model that prioritizes client value and price certainty over the traditional billable-hour grind.

If you've ever wanted to practice law without the unnecessary friction of a traditional firm, this is your opportunity to be part of something different.

What You'll Do

  • Provide legal representation and strategic counsel in family law matters, including divorce, dissolution, child custody, child support, spousal support, post-decree modifications, and related domestic relations proceedings.

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, parenting plans, separation agreements, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, trials, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Prepare thoroughly for court appearances, client meetings, negotiations, and case-related proceedings.
  • Build strong client relationships through responsive communication, practical legal advice, and consistent case updates.
  • Take ownership of case progress, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure effective and timely case management.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to develop case strategies and achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
  • Leverage custom AI tools, Smokeball, and automated workflows to streamline legal research, document preparation, and case management.
  • Use technology-assisted case analysis and preparation tools to strengthen litigation strategy and courtroom readiness.
  • Participate in weekly EOS Level 10 meetings and contribute ideas that improve the firm's operations and client experience.

What We're Looking For

  • Active Ohio law license in good standing, with the ability to independently handle Ohio domestic relations matters.
  • Approximately 3–5+ years of family law experience, particularly in divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, and post-decree matters.
  • Demonstrated experience handling contested family law cases and representing clients in court.
  • Strong litigation, negotiation, legal research, and legal writing skills.
  • Ability to independently manage cases, court appearances, deadlines, and competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, particularly when navigating emotionally sensitive client situations.
  • Sound legal judgment, professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • A collaborative mindset, strong work ethic, and genuine commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
