Position Overview

As a disability attorney, you will represent clients at all stages of the disability claims process—from initial applications and reconsiderations to administrative hearings.


Responsibilities include:

  • Building trust-based relationships with clients and understanding their needs.
  • Developing persuasive legal arguments and advocating zealously on behalf of clients.
  • Preparing for hearings, including pre-hearing interviews, cross-examination of medical and vocational experts, and drafting briefs or correspondence.
  • Maintaining accurate case notes, deadlines, and communications in our case management system.
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in statutes, regulations, and case law.
  • Collaborating with support staff to ensure timely and effective client service.
  • Participating in firm-wide training, case reviews, and professional development initiatives.


Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active and good standing with at least one state bar; multi-state licensure is a plus
  • Experience handling Social Security and/or VA disability cases
  • Excellent oral and written advocacy skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a significant caseload with competing deadlines
  • Empathy, patience, and genuine desire to serve individuals with disabilities
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software
  • Willingness to travel for hearings as needed (cost covered)
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus, but not required
