Project Engineer

Location: Bristol, (Long Ashton) - Onsite

Salary: Competitive + Benefits

Overview

ARCA Resourcing is supporting a world-class engineering organisation at the forefront of advanced automotive and motorsport technology in the search for a Project Engineer.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of complex engineering projects from concept through to delivery — combining hands-on technical leadership with project management responsibility. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performance systems that push the limits of innovation, reliability, and precision.

The Role

As a Project Engineer, you’ll play a key part in the delivery of cutting-edge systems across automotive and motorsport programmes. You’ll bridge the gap between engineering and project delivery, ensuring world-class solutions are designed, integrated, and implemented on time, to spec, and within budget.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning the technical delivery of customer projects, ensuring high-quality and timely outcomes
  • Leading facility integration, design documentation, and installation planning
  • Overseeing design and development throughout the full lifecycle — from requirements capture to in-service support
  • Managing technical interfaces with suppliers and procurement teams
  • Conducting validation testing, data analysis, and performance reviews
  • Supporting on-site installations and ensuring scope is accurately captured and managed
  • Working collaboratively across engineering disciplines to ensure aligned and compliant solutions
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks and supporting continuous improvement in processes and methodologies

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a technically strong, customer-facing engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys taking ownership of complex challenges.

You’ll bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in a hands-on engineering role with direct customer interaction
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and schematic drawings
  • Strong technical documentation and specification authoring skills
  • Proven experience commissioning and testing mechanical/electrical systems
  • Knowledge of requirements management and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • A proactive, analytical approach with a strong sense of ownership

Desirable:

  • Experience with 3D or Electrical CAD systems
  • Familiarity with servo and PLC-driven systems
  • DFMEA experience

What You Can Expect

  • Direct involvement in the design and delivery of innovative, high-performance engineering systems
  • Exposure to complex projects within the automotive and motorsport sectors
  • Collaboration with highly skilled specialists across mechanical, electrical, and control engineering
  • Opportunities to shape processes, influence design outcomes, and lead technical delivery
  • A supportive and dynamic environment that encourages ownership, learning, and professional growth

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Automotive, Motorsport or Aeronautical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Working towards or holding Chartered Engineer status is advantageous

If you’re a driven engineer who enjoys combining technical depth with project ownership — and you’re ready to contribute to world-leading engineering programmes — we’d love to hear from you.
