Hours: 4-day working week
Contract: Permanent (subject to funding)
Location: Hybrid – Home working and Belfast office (minimum 2 days per week)
Charity Jobs NI is delighted to be working in partnership with Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful to recruit a proactive and community-focused Engagement Officer to join their Live Here Love Here team.
This opportunity will particularly appeal to candidates currently working as a Community Engagement Officer, Volunteer Engagement Officer, Community Development Officer, Environmental Engagement Officer or Programme Officer, who are passionate about empowering communities to take positive environmental action.
Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful is an independent charity dedicated to connecting people with nature through education, engagement and empowerment. Through its Live Here Love Here platform, the organisation supports communities across Northern Ireland to take pride in their local areas through clean-ups, biodiversity projects and volunteer-led initiatives.
About the Role
Community Engagement is a key strand of Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful’s Strategic Plan. The Engagement Officer plays a vital role in delivering Live Here Love Here programmes, spending time directly within communities to build networks, strengthen relationships and inspire environmental action.
You will proactively enhance and expand existing Live Here Love Here networks, empowering individuals, volunteers and community groups to make a positive environmental impact in their local areas. A particular focus of the role includes supporting and developing the Adopt a Spot programme and contributing to the delivery of the Small Grants project alongside colleagues.
This is a hands-on, people-centred role that blends relationship-building, programme administration, volunteer engagement and content creation. You will regularly travel across Northern Ireland to attend community events, Adopt a Spot locations, meetings and photo calls.
