Salary: £14.50 – £18.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Are you an experienced Mild Steel Fabricator looking for a hands-on role within a forward-thinking engineering workshop?

Our client, a well-established local engineering firm based in Lisburn, is seeking a Senior Mild Steel Fabricator to join their skilled and dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for a tradesperson who takes pride in high-quality craftsmanship, precision fabrication, and delivering bespoke engineering solutions across a wide range of industries.

You’ll be part of a company known for its professionalism, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering exceptional results. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on both one-off and small-batch production projects in a clean, well-equipped workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate, weld, and assemble mild steel components to precise specifications using MIG/TIG techniques.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication schematics accurately.
• Operate a range of workshop machinery and tools, including saws, grinders, and presses.
• Ensure all work meets required tolerances and quality standards.
• Work independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality projects on time.
• Maintain a safe, organised, and compliant working environment.
• Support and mentor junior team members when required.

Essential Criteria

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar fabrication role.
• Proven ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
• Strong technical understanding of mild steel fabrication and welding processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience working with stainless steel or bespoke, one-off fabrication projects.
• Background in manufacturing, structural, or custom-built metalwork.
• Relevant welding qualifications or trade certifications.
