Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager – Fully Remote | $145K–$190K (DOE)

A well-established CPA firm with several decades of success is seeking an experienced Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager to join its growing team. The firm serves a diverse client base of closely held businesses, their owners, and high-net-worth individuals, and is recognized for its technical strength, client relationships, and long-term stability.

While the firm maintains offices across multiple regions, roughly 70% of its professionals work fully remote across all U.S. time zones, supporting a flexible and collaborative environment that emphasizes trust, balance, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and review a portfolio of complex tax engagements including individuals, partnerships, corporations, fiduciaries, and nonprofits
• Deliver tax planning, compliance, and advisory services tailored to each client’s needs
• Supervise, train, and mentor staff and senior accountants
• Conduct research and ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations
• Collaborate with firm leadership on client strategy, workflow improvements, and process optimization

Qualifications

• Active CPA or EA license
• 6+ years of progressive public accounting experience
• Strong technical background across individual and entity taxation (1040, 1065, 1120S/1120, 1041)
• Excellent communication, organization, and review skills
• Proficiency with modern tax software (UltraTax, CCH Axcess, or similar)
• Collaborative mindset and ability to lead in a distributed work environment
