Tax Director (Fully Remote) - up to $225K Base + 15% Bonus

We are a fast-growing, boutique, cloud-based CPA firm serving entrepreneurial businesses and high-net-worth individuals nationwide. Built from the ground up to be remote-first, tech-forward, and people-centered, we’re seeking an experienced Tax Director to lead our tax practice and help shape the future of the firm.

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a traditional tax role buried in compliance or billable-hour rigidity. As our Tax Director, you’ll play a critical leadership role—owning tax strategy, mentoring talent, improving processes, and partnering directly with clients and firm leadership.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and oversee the firm’s tax practice, including complex business and individual tax engagements
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on proactive tax planning and strategy
• Review and sign federal and multi-state returns (individual, partnership, S-corp, and C-corp)
• Develop and mentor a high-performing remote tax team
• Design and refine scalable, cloud-based tax workflows and best practices
• Stay ahead of tax law changes and translate them into actionable client guidance
• Collaborate with firm leadership on growth initiatives, service expansion, and firm strategy

What We’re Looking For

• CPA license required (EA with equivalent senior leadership experience considered)
• 10+ years of progressive tax experience, including leadership or managerial responsibility
• Strong technical expertise in business and individual taxation; multi-state experience preferred
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and inspire a remote team
• Client-facing confidence with a consultative, solutions-oriented mindset
• Comfortable working in a fully cloud-based environment (or excited to be)
