The Role:
As a Sales & Use Tax Senior Associate, you'll work directly within a focused indirect tax team on multi-state compliance, consulting, and advisory engagements across a sophisticated national client base. This is a firm where SALT isn't a department — it's the entire business. You'll get meaningful exposure to complex work, direct access to firm leadership, and a genuine path forward at a practice that's actively expanding its footprint and turning away business because demand outpaces capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multi-state Sales & Use tax compliance and consulting engagements
- Conduct tax research and support planning and advisory projects across a variety of industries
- Assist with VDAs, refund claims, audit defense, and nexus studies
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for clients, building relationships and delivering quality work
- Collaborate with senior team members and firm leadership on complex engagements
- Grow alongside a practice that is scaling its national book of business
What You're Bringing:
- Meaningful Sales & Use tax experience — multi-state exposure is a strong plus
- Consulting, advisory, or compliance background within a SALT-focused environment
- Comfort working across industries — manufacturing, oil & gas, healthcare, construction, chemical, energy, or hospitality experience is particularly relevant
- A self-starter mentality that thrives without micromanagement
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage directly with clients
