The Opportunity
We are seeking a Client Accounting Services (CAS) Manager with significant nonprofit accounting experience to lead outsourced accounting engagements and serve as a trusted advisor to nonprofit clients nationwide.
This is a fully remote leadership role offering strong compensation, meaningful client interaction, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on organizations that serve their communities.
What You'll Do
- Manage and review outsourced accounting and CAS engagements for nonprofit organizations
- Serve as the primary advisor to nonprofit leadership teams, Executive Directors, CFOs, and Boards
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
- Review financial statements in accordance with GAAP, including nonprofit-specific reporting requirements
- Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, grant tracking, and fund accounting
- Advise clients on internal controls, operational efficiencies, and accounting best practices
- Mentor and develop senior and staff accountants
- Collaborate with tax and audit teams to provide comprehensive client solutions
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying advisory opportunities
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of public accounting experience with a strong focus on nonprofit organizations
- Hands-on experience serving nonprofit, tax-exempt, foundation, association, or government-funded clients
- Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles, fund accounting, and financial reporting
- Experience managing client relationships and leading teams
- Proficiency with cloud-based accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- CPA preferred but not required
Compensation & Benefits
- $120,000 – $150,000+ base salary (based on experience)
