We are a growing, mid-sized commercial General Contractor headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, specializing in high-quality Tenant Improvement and Interior Fit-Out construction. Our projects span multiple commercial sectors including corporate office, healthcare, retail, hospitality, industrial office, and specialty commercial environments.

With a strong backlog of negotiated and repeat business, we are seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our team and play a key leadership role in delivering fast-paced, detail-oriented interior construction projects.

Position Overview

The Superintendent will be responsible for leading on-site operations for commercial TI and interior fit-out projects up to $5M+. This individual will serve as the primary field leader, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong coordination skills, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple trades in active commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout
• Develop and manage short-interval schedules to maintain project timelines
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and field personnel
• Maintain site safety in accordance with OSHA and company standards
• Conduct daily site meetings and communicate schedule expectations clearly
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers on budget, schedule, and procurement
• Identify and proactively resolve field issues and constructability challenges
• Ensure quality control standards are met and maintained throughout the project
• Manage inspections, punch lists, and final project turnover

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
• Strong experience with Tenant Improvement / Interior Fit-Out projects required
• Proven experience managing projects up to $5M+
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications
• Strong scheduling and coordination skills
• Experience working in occupied buildings is highly preferred
• OSHA 30 certification preferred
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project preferred
