Location: 100% Remote (US-based)
Compensation: Up to $160,000 base + performance bonus

We are hiring a SALT Tax Manager to join a growing practice — sophisticated state and local tax work, year-round advisory engagements, and a clear path forward for the right person.

What You Will Do
- Lead and manage state and local tax engagements across a diverse middle market client base
- Advise clients on nexus, apportionment, multi-state compliance, and tax planning strategies
- Lead voluntary disclosure agreements, state audit defense, and controversy matters
- Research and analyze complex SALT issues and communicate findings clearly to clients and partners
- Review state and local tax returns across multiple entity types
- Mentor and develop senior associates and staff
- Collaborate with federal tax and advisory teams on comprehensive client engagements
- Contribute to business development and practice growth initiatives
What We Are Looking For
- CPA preferred
- 5+ years of SALT experience at a public accounting firm
- Strong technical foundation across multi-state income tax, sales and use tax, nexus, and apportionment
- Experience managing client relationships and supervising tax staff
- Audit defense and controversy experience a strong plus
- Industry experience across construction, manufacturing, professional services, private equity, or real estate a plus
- Self-directed and comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment
