About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established public accounting firm seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead and grow their HUD and Affordable Housing audit practice. This is a fully remote role offering strong autonomy, meaningful client relationships, and a collaborative leadership team.

The firm has a strong presence in the affordable housing space and works with developers, property management companies, nonprofit organizations, and housing authorities across the country.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audits for HUD-assisted and affordable housing entities, including:
• Multifamily housing projects
• LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) properties
• Public Housing Authorities (PHAs)
• Nonprofit housing organizations
• Oversee audits performed under:
• HUD Audit Guide
• Uniform Guidance (Single Audits, when applicable)
• GAAP financial reporting standards
• Review and supervise audit staff and seniors
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients
• Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and profitability
• Provide technical guidance on HUD compliance matters
• Assist with practice development and mentoring team members

Qualifications

• Active CPA license (Required)
• 5+ years of public accounting audit experience
• Strong experience with HUD and/or affordable housing audits (Required)
• Experience with LIHTC and Uniform Guidance preferred
• Proven leadership and team management experience
• Strong client communication and relationship skills
