REMOTE Tax Manager – 40-Person CPA Firm (Southeast-Based, Hiring Anywhere in the Region)

A well-run, 40-person public accounting firm headquartered in Georgia is adding a Remote Tax Manager to support continued growth across the Southeast. The firm operates with modern systems, a strong review process, and a culture that values professionalism without the bureaucracy.
This is a straightforward role for someone who enjoys a true 50/50 split between Individuals and Business Entities and wants a long-term home with stability, flexibility, and room to move up.
What You’ll Own
Individuals (Approx. 50%)
- High-earning individuals, entrepreneurs, and business owners
- Complex 1040s tied to operating businesses and investment entities
- Multi-state returns and year-round planning work
Business Entities (Approx. 50%)
- S corps, partnerships, flow-throughs, small to mid-size closely-held companies
- Estates, gifts, and trust returns
- Some nonprofit filings (not a heavy load)
- Mix of prep review (primarily review) and client advisory
What the Firm Runs On
- Modern tech stack
- Strong admin and senior staff support
- Reasonable hours outside of peak periods
- Leadership that respects autonomy and trusts managers to run engagements
What They’re Looking For
- 5–10+ years of public accounting experience
- Solid reviewer who can manage a balanced book of Individuals and Entities
- Confident working directly with business owners and families
- Strong communicator with the ability to mentor seniors and associates
- CPA or EA required
