Remote Senior Tax Manager | Independent Boutique CPA Firm | $10k Sign-On | Up to $190k

Location: 100% Remote (United States)

Compensation: $150,000–$190,000 base + $10,000 sign-on bonus + performance bonus

Requirements: 7+ years public accounting tax experience | 3+ years as Manager | CPA or EA required | Small business focus required

We are hiring a Senior Tax Manager who is ready to step into a direct path to Director — with the potential to get there in as little as 6 months to a year. This is not a vague promise. The firm is growing, the need is real, and the right person will be running the tax team and reporting directly to the Partner before they have been here long.

What You Will Do

• Review and manage S-corp, partnership, and individual tax returns for a portfolio of small business clients under $10M in revenue
• Serve as a primary client contact — advising business owners directly on tax planning, entity structure, and compliance matters
• Lead, supervise, and develop the tax team — with a clear path to overseeing the entire department as Director
• Identify proactive planning opportunities and communicate them clearly to clients and partners
• Collaborate directly with Partners on client strategy, firm growth, and practice development
• Contribute to the firm's culture, technology adoption, and operational improvement initiatives

What We Are Looking For

• Active CPA or EA required
• 7+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Minimum 3+ years as a Tax Manager — this is a senior leadership role, not a first-time management seat
• Small business focus required — clients under $10M in revenue; no large C-corp backgrounds
• Strong technical foundation in S-corps, partnerships, and individual returns
• UltraTax experience strongly preferred
• Client-facing advisory experience — you are comfortable owning the relationship, not just reviewing the work
• Entrepreneurial mindset — you want to build something, not just maintain it
• Self-directed and comfortable working fully remote
