Principal Network Architect / CCIE | Remote (EST/CST)

Global Enterprise Infrastructure Consulting | Remote

A growing technology consulting organization is looking to add a Principal Network Architect to its Enterprise Infrastructure practice.

This is a senior, highly client-facing consulting role supporting large enterprise and global customer environments across data center, campus, WAN, cloud, and security initiatives.

The team works with sophisticated organizations whose infrastructure spans multiple locations, regions, and countries. We are looking for someone who has experience operating in these types of environments and is comfortable working with global customers, distributed technical teams, and stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones.

You’ll serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the lifecycle of complex infrastructure projects — helping customers define strategy and architecture while remaining close enough to the technology to lead successful implementation and delivery.

Projects include data center modernization, global WAN transformation, SD-WAN deployments, cloud connectivity, network segmentation, campus modernization, large-scale migrations, and broader enterprise infrastructure transformation initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Architect and design complex enterprise network infrastructure across campus, branch, WAN, cloud, and data center environments
  • Lead architecture and technical strategy for large, geographically distributed and global enterprise customers
  • Design scalable network solutions and standards that can be deployed across multiple regions and locations
  • Lead complex network migration, transformation, and modernization initiatives
  • Work directly with customer engineering teams, architects, IT leadership, and executive stakeholders
  • Lead architecture reviews, design workshops, discovery sessions, and technical planning
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable infrastructure designs
  • Develop customer-facing documentation including HLDs/LLDs, implementation plans, migration strategies, and operational runbooks
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle from discovery and design through implementation and knowledge transfer
  • Troubleshoot and provide escalation support for complex technical challenges
  • Coordinate technical delivery across multiple teams, locations, and stakeholders
  • Mentor engineers and serve as a senior technical resource across the organization

Technical Background

Candidates should have deep enterprise networking expertise across several of the following:

  • Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms
  • Advanced enterprise routing and switching
  • BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRFs, QoS, and multicast
  • VXLAN/EVPN and spine-leaf architectures
  • Cisco ACI
  • SD-WAN technologies
  • Global WAN architecture and transformation
  • Data center networking and modernization
  • AWS and Azure connectivity
  • Network security and segmentation
  • Arista, Fortinet, and Juniper technologies
  • Network automation using Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools

What We're Looking For

  • 12+ years of enterprise networking and architecture experience
  • Deep technical expertise designing and supporting large-scale, complex enterprise networks
  • Experience working with global or multinational customers and distributed infrastructure environments
  • Consulting, VAR, systems integrator, or professional services experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead architecture, design, and technical strategy discussions with sophisticated enterprise customers
  • Strong understanding of data center, campus, WAN, cloud connectivity, and network security architectures
  • Experience developing network architectures and standards that scale across multiple locations and regions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, architects, IT leadership, and executive stakeholders
  • Strong customer-facing presence and ability to serve as a trusted technical advisor
  • Active CCIE strongly preferred, CCDE and plus
  • Experience mentoring engineers and serving as a senior technical leader

Highlights

  • Work directly with large enterprise and global customers
  • Lead complex, high-impact infrastructure transformation initiatives
  • Work across large-scale data center, cloud, campus, WAN, and security environments
  • Stay technically engaged while operating at the architecture and strategy level
  • Variety of technologies, projects, and customer environments
  • Strong engineering and consulting culture
  • Remote opportunity for candidates based anywhere in EST or CST
  • Travel based on customer and project requirements
  • Opportunity to serve as one of the senior technical leaders within a growing Enterprise Infrastructure practice

If you're looking for a role where you can operate at the architecture level while staying close to the technology - working directly with sophisticated global customers and solving complex infrastructure challenges - we'd welcome a conversation.
